Chris Porter

Chris and Sandy have been married for 30 years. They have two sons: Daniel and Christopher. They attended the first service at Sherwood Oaks West and have served the church on the west side since that day. Chris is a professional land surveyor, and Sandy works at Indiana University in the Campus Children’s Center.
Chris grew up going to church and was baptized as a pre-teen at Solsberry Christian Church. He was baptized later at Liberty Church of Christ in Hendricksville when he felt he understood the need better. Chris described himself as a “lukewarm Christian pew sitter” until attending the Walk to Emmaus in 2016. That walk and his service at Westside kickstarted his faith.
For the last two years, Chris has been attending Lincoln Christian University working on his Masters in Bible and Theology degree. He plans to complete his studies in May. His goal is to serve God in whatever function He can use him.
Chris enjoys attending car shows and stress-relieving walks. His favorite place is their back porch where Sandy and Chris relax and discuss life.
